A year to remember

I am certain that its been since October since my last blog.  <Slacker>

Being a stay at home mom of 3 and a photographer has been the greatest blessing in my life.  As 2011 came to an end I was a bit sad.  Sad that my children will all turn another year older, sad that I WILL turn another year older, sad that the great memories of 2011 are now just a memory.  Then I realized that 2012 is another year that I will watch my children smile at my silly faces.  2012 is a year that I will learn new things.  2012 is a year that I will meet wonderful clients.  2012 is a year that I'll photograph newborns that I photographed in 2011.  2012 is full of new and exciting beginnings, and change!

Speaking of Change-I read on a friend of mine's page about how the obsession with change always happens this time of year.  I love that change doesn't have to just happen because its a new year.  "Change is not an event its a process."  How true is that?  A lot has changed for my family here within the last week or so.  Health issues have reared their ugly head into my body and I am trying to process out the bad and make a change to be healthier!

I hope for continued success and to see everyone I photographed last year...in 2012!!!  Below is just *some* of whats happened since October of 2011!!!

Thanks to everyone who supports and loves what I do!!

Its been a while

Its that time of where when the air is cooler one week and the next week it feels like spring.  Cincinnati weather is strange.  So with the weird weather comes sickness and yucky germs!!  My kids and I have all had the yucky sick bug for what seems like a month now :(  I am still trying to get over it.

In the meantime I've had several sessions that I haven't uploaded yet so I will do that now!!

First up I want to say the lovely young lady and man seen below; I will be doing their wedding in May.  Can I just say how stunning they are?!  They are two of the sweetest people I've ever met!!!  I am thrilled to work with them more, for they have become a friend to me!

Some Family portraits in October-Below.  October is my favorite time of year and how gorgeous is all the fall colors?!

I've had a birthday shoot with my oldest for his 7 year pictures; Below

And because he loves Halloween we did some pictures in his costume too!!
Another wedding I'm doing in July-Engagement Pictures; Below

My favorite little "g" girls; Below

And their gorgeous momma and my bestest friend in the whole world!!  She has been there for me no matter what!  She's never turned her back on me and she's there when I need someone to talk to!!  She's not judgemental and she accepts me for who I am!!  I <3 her!!
The 3 little Amigo's, that are just so darn silly...and a little bit wild!! Below.
My cousin's beautiful little miss "p"!!  I am so glad that they came to my house and let me use them as my Guinea pigs on my new backdrop!!

And the reason I love doing senior photo sessions so much is because all the unique locations I get to travel to!!  I had such a blast during this session!!! Below.

To end this I will just say that November has been a great month so far!!  I am being featured at a local Starbucks for a full month of recognition on their "Art Wall"!!!  I am beyond grateful and excited!!  I am so thankful for all my wonderful clients and friends and especially my family!!

Mario time...and other adorable-ness

I photographed this family a while back and her boys were tired, and really was not interested in having me in their face.  So I rescheduled a session with them and couldn't be happier with how well the boys behaved!!  Even Mario was happy to participate in having his photo taken!!  Here are some pictures from all their sessions combined :)

I am so happy when I get the opportunity to photograph them!!  They really make me smile!!!

Candy anyone?

My neighbor just had her 3rd beautiful baby boy and I had the opportunity to photograph his cute-ness!!!  I just ordered the most perfect candy corn hat off eBay and couldn't wait to use it.  He was the perfect little baby for the hat!!  I love having their family as my neighbors...they are awesome!!!

I'm in love with crochet props!!!

Army Family

My gorgeous cousin is married to an army man!  With that comes the life of an Army Wife and basically a single mother.  She has two stunningly beautiful children!  They are so sweet and I love them so much!!  My cousin's little girl is a total ham and has a fireball personality.  She didn't want to sit still for 5 seconds and honestly what 2 1/2 year old does when there's things to be exploring!  Her son however didn't have a choice he's only 6 months old and soooo chubby!!  If there's one thing I love about babies...its the chubs, the rolls, the puffy cheeks :)  He was pretty well behaved despite the freezing cold weather we had that day!!  Here are some shots from that day!!

Love them <3 <3 <3

Birthday Boy

You never realize how small our world can be until someone you've taken pictures for lives about 2 minutes away, has quite a few mutual friends, and never even knew each other!!

I am so lucky to have met this family!!  I am thrilled that she has asked me to do her engagement photos as well as be her wedding photographer in 2012!!  I have only done one small wedding and so I hope I will be prepared enough to capture her amazing day!!  She also asked me to photograph her little boy's 1st birthday portraits!!

He was a total "Mr. Serious"  He seemed to like me, just not enough to smile for me!!  He has THE MOST AMAZING blue eyes!!  He is definitely going to be his Mommy's little heart breaker!!!  Here are some shots from his session!!!

I cant wait to photograph this family more!!!  The one's I have met so far are just lovely!

Slacking...Time for an update!!

Birthdays, sessions, family gatherings, school, being the Shaffer, wife, mommy, and maid=BUSY!!!  I have been totally in love with the season's changing and staying busy that I have let my blogging slack a bit...forgive me?

This time of year when the leaves start changing and the air is cooler and the smells of pumpkin spice is in every store you step foot in makes me happy!!

I did a session with my gorgeous little girl in her fall attire and her Halloween outfit.  Here's a few of her best!!

I also did a session with my youngest little guy!!  We did fall pictures of him and in his costume!!  He is so thrilled with his costume this year he's barely taken it off since we bought it 2 weeks ago!!

 He's thrilled!!!
One of my little guy's best features is his eyes, because they are the most perfect ice blue ; however when he smiles his eyes turn into half moons and you cant even see the color anymore :(  Oh well, he's still super adorable :)

I still need to take pictures of my oldest for his 7 year birthday photos and fall/Halloween so I guess I'll be editing this blog soon!!

Before I move onto client blogs I wanted to share a photo that I recently took in my neighborhood, and you will see my love of fall!!!

Happy Fall Y'all!!!
